18 REASONS WHY KIDS SHOULDN’T HATE THEIR TEACHERS BUT RESPECT THEM


Quality affordable education has engaged the attention of many governments across the world because of the benefits educated citizenry provide to its nation and to the citizen at large.

However, one of the key stakeholders (teachers) may engage in certain conducts and behaviors that will directly or indirectly affect the pupils and students they teach.

The purpose of this post is to alert you to know about these things and what you can do to assist your child in order not to be affected by these misconducts and unprofessional conducts of some of our teachers and assist your kid not to hate the teacher

  1. TALKING TOO MUCH

Teachers are expected to create the needed classroom environment to lead the teaching learning experience of students. However, some teachers spend so much time talking about irrelevant stuff which are not part of what they have planned to deliver to their students. See teachers as human.

Get your child to politely draw the attention of the teacher to his or her topic under consideration without sounding disrespectful to the teacher.

  • 2. POOR PREPARATION

It has been proven that some teachers teach anyhow because they have not prepared adequately before going into the classroom to teach.

Students can read between the line to know whether the teacher is adequately prepared or otherwise.

Get your child to report to the senior teacher about the ill preparation of the teacher if he or she continue in similar fashion.

  • 3.UNNECESSARY PUNISHMENT

We want our kids to acquire skills and knowledge through the tuition they receive from their teachers. However, some teachers can go overboard to indulge in all acts of punishments so as to get their message across.

Every state and country has punishment that can be allowed in the classroom without hurting the child psychologically, physically and emotionally.

Get your child to know the rules of the schools in order not to fall victim of the laws so as not to be punished by a teacher. Kids hate punishments and they must also obey the laws of the school

  • 4.PUNISHMENT FOR NO REASON

Some kids claimed their teachers punish them if they have not done anything wrong. Some of these punishments may be targeted against students perceived by their teachers to be naughty.

Get your child to be disciplined and informed him or her not to follow bad students in the school. Some children behave nicely at home but quickly put up different behaviors when the join their so called friends.

  • 5.INSULTS

Some teachers can really insults their students due to frustration or their personal emotional challenges they face in life.

Get your child to report if the insult is always target at her for no reason without engaging in any exchange of words with the teacher (s)

  • 6.POOR TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The method the teacher uses to deliver his or her lesson would either help the child to under the task easily or makes it difficult for the child to understand.

Get your child to approach the teacher whose subject he or she has difficulty understanding. A humble approach to the teacher would enable further clarification or explanation to be given him or her about the subject under consideration.

  • 7.PREFERRING OTHER STUDENTS AND HATING OTHERS

As a matter of fact, some teachers may prefer some students to others probably because of certain factors that draw those particular students to the teachers.

Get your child to understand that he or she is in school to learn within a given time frame and shouldn’t be bothered about students’ teachers like and those they don’t like.

  • 8.SHOUTING ON STUDENTS

Some teachers do shout on students to get them do the right thing. But shouting and screaming students embarrass them and should be avoided. What should you do as a parent if you child report such incident to you?

Get your child not to be found among students who disturb in class, which may result in the teacher shouting on some of them.

  • 9.POOR DRESSING

Some teachers dress any how to teach students in class. This poor dressing may redirect the attention of the students to the dressing rather than the teaching.

Get your child to focus on the topic when the teacher is teaching rather than focusing on the dressing of the teacher. That’s something school management has to deal with.

10. FROWNING THEIR FACES IN CLASS

Some teachers may be going through a lot of things inside   before coming to school. This will reflect on the attitude they put up such as frowning or not smiling in the classroom. This may result in their attitude in class. Some may frown their faces to exhibit all is not well with them.Get your child to know that teachers are just human being like them and their inability to smile should not disturb him or her. # Don’t hate your teacher # Respect your teacher

11. COMPLAINING IN THE CLASSROOM

Do you know that some teachers complain about things that     they don’t like about school management, their superiors, the economy etc. This is against the code of professional conduct of teachers, but they do them all the same. Get your child to be focus and not to be distracted by complains of the teachers. # Don’t hate your teacher   # Respect your teacher

12. HABITUAL LATE COMERS TO CLASS

Some teachers are habitual late comers to class and students take note of such teachers and complain about their conducts to school management.

Get your child to do what is expected of him or her without waiting for the late coming of the teacher.

13. PREVENTING STUDENTS FROM ASKING QUESTION

A teacher who is on top of his or her work allows students to ask questions for further clarification and explanation. If a particular teacher doesn’t allow his or her students to ask questions, school management must be informed to get the teacher to allow students to ask questions.

Get your child to seek for other sources of seeking explanation such as the dictionary, the internet or the thesaurus. Let them go  to the library to read for further information.

14. NOT MARKING STUDENTS EXERCISES

It’s not everybody who is qualified to be a teacher. The teaching certificate alone does not guarantee that a teacher would deliver quality teaching in the classroom.Marking exercises of students is a huge task that many teachers don’t find comfortable doing.

Get your child to get the class monitors or prefects informed so that they can draw the attention of the teacher in question.

15. USE OF CELL PHONE IN THE CLASSROOM

Most states laws banned the use of cell phones by teachers. However the law is not rigidly enforced making some teachers to use the phone in the cause of teaching when it becomes necessary to do so.

Get your child to inform the management of the school if the teacher’s use of the phone is affecting his or her concentration on the topic.

16. TEACHERS NOT HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK

Teachers worldwide are not adequately compensated for the work they do in modeling the future leaders of our society. But that is not the reason to be unprofessional with their work.

Some teachers are not satisfied with their work and are likely to demonstrate this bad attitude in class through the way they approach their work.

Get your child to concentrate on his or her studies without any focus on the negative attitude of the teachers.

17.TALKING TO STUDENTS ANYHOW

Do some teachers talk to some students anyhow? Yes they do! Frustration on the part of some teachers can make them speak anyhow in the classroom. We must know that we are handling a generation of kids who are very intelligent than we think.

Teachers should be careful in the classroom with regards to how they handle students in the classroom.

Get your kid to focus on his or her work and not be affected by the attitude of the teacher.

18.DISGRACING THEIR STUDENTS IN CLASSROOM

Why should a teacher disgrace a student in the classroom? We sometimes do so when we identified students who are troublesome and disturbed the class unnecessary. This is deliberately done to control the “naughty students” from disturbing others in class.

However, teachers should not over use this tool because it not a professional method of correcting bad students

Get your child to behave properly in class.
